Building back better for women and girls in Indonesia
This Policy Brief seeks to provide the Government of Indonesia, civil society organisations and UN agencies with a framework for action that builds on the lessons learned and the opportunities that the pandemic has generated to advance gender equality and women and girls’ empowerment in Indonesia. Its content draws on data and findings from UNICEF’s Gender Analysis4 produced in response to COVID-19.5 It also incorporates the feedback and views of eight women’s organisations we consulted as part of the development of this publication, shining the light on the unique experiences and contributions of women and girls during the pandemic.
